What Do You Say
What do you say when the question is asked
Regarding your plans for the summer time?
You try to explain that you're going to Tap
But no words come to your mind.
You try to describe all the things that you do,
You talk of traditions of the Gray and the Blue,
Yet no matter how in detail you get
There's one thing you can bet.
(Chorus)
Tapawingo means growing, laughing, caring, sharing
With all of your friends in every way.
Singing, competing, loving, bringing smiles to somebody every day.
You feel that the words you're used to describe so far
Don't really mean what you're trying to say,
So you talk of the memories and the times you have spent
But there must be an easier way.
You tell of the time that you hit a home run,
Or the time that your nose got burnt in the sun.
But these things are merely parts of the day.
Yet there's one thing you can say.
(Chorus)
How do you explain the thing that's so dear
This place up in Maine where we return year to year
The only way that you'll ever know
Is to get on your feet and go
(Chorus)
Tap is a place you can't describe
It has a warm feeling deep inside.
Once you come you'll never say goodbye.
